Big Sur

The last couple of months have been hectic in so many ways… We got married, moved to a new city, went through quarantine (as the rest of the word did), moved into three different flats in 3 months and added a new member to our family! No need to say that our lives have been pretty busy.

Though the beginning of 2020 has been intense and challenging for everyone, we both somehow found quietness in this chaos and settled slowly into our new life…
Countless strolls on the Embarcadero, to Ocean beach & the Golden Gate Park have helped. Countless hours watching new shows on Netflix, talking about life and how the world got crazy pretty quickly made the time pass faster, no doubts about it.

We found our pace by taking life a bit more lightly and trying to find joy in the little things. However being far from our family and friends was not easy add to it the social distancing in a brand new city where you crave for new encounters and there you go!

Throughout this singular period we both contemplated the idea of getting a puppy, to be fair it was not new to us, we have been wanting to get one for so long but we were always moving around; so we always postponed the idea until 4 weeks ago.

It was a simple call for us. We were ready to add more craziness to our lives.

And what’s better than a little road trip on the Big Sur coastline to get your puppy ?

Even though most national parks were still closed at the time we had a blast! The drive is beyond beautiful & we’ll soon go back soon to explore more.

We spent a full day driving from San Francisco to Morro Bay.

Straight out of a dream

There’s no signal on this scenic drive, so make sure to plan your stops ahead. You do not want to miss out trust me. From the Mcway falls to Morro Bay there are plenty of breathtaking stops, don’t be shy!

Milo

After driving a few hours along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, we decided to spend the night in Morro Bay, one last stop just the two of us before adding a new member to our family!
We had great seafood and wine at dinner to celebrate the start of a new area. It was time for us to take a step back and grasp everything we have achieved so far and be proud of it.

It’s necessary to give yourself credit for your own growth and successes as well as accepting your failures and mistakes. How crazy to think that I realized two of my long life goals in the midst of a world crisis (getting a dog & moving to California add to it marrying my best friend)!

After reminiscing about our journey travelling the world together one step at the time, we woke up ready to pick up Milo. As soon as we met him we knew he would rock our world...and the rest is still unwritten.
