Joshua Tree National Park

After two weeks of travelling across the Californian state we made a last stop at the intriguing Joshua Tree National Park. I have been there before and could not wait to come back and experience it in a different way. Joshua is one of a kind.

Located at the Southern part of California the park overlooks the Coachella Valley and sits between the Mojave & Colorado Deserts. This unique situation combined with the odd looking trees give the park its whimsical look. You will find there a tremendous variety of plants and animals, great rock climbing spots and your perfect go to location for stargazing. Joshua’s main reputation is based on its unreal starry skies… Unfortunately we drove during daytime and could not stop for the night (maybe next time?).

But be reassured, we still got some great shots of the park’s best spots! When you enter the park you just want to slow down and look everywhere, it’s magical. There is something utterly compelling with these landscapes. I will let you be the judge of it:

Cholla Cactus garden

Jumbo Rocks

It is fairly easy to get around the park, the drive is enjoyable and the main attractions / hikes are less than 30 minutes away from each other.
In a day we managed to stop at the following spots without having to rush:
- Keys view - Jumbo Rocks - Cholla Cactus garden - Hidden Valley

This loop allows you to get a good understanding about what the park is about. The stunning landscapes looks like they are out of a children’s story book.

I loved it here, it’s a great place if you want to escape your busy life, rekindle your childhood’s spirit or simply contemplate nature at its finest.
