Little Normandy
It was a family reunion that brought me there, this sweet little town in Normandy where half of my family live; I usually don’t go often but when I do it feels right. The seaside town has got a lot to offer: from the breathtaking sunsets to the delicious food, this place is my safe haven. So, us the girls went on a 4 hour road trip to Agon to spend time with our loved ones. I wanted to write about it only because it seems like the right thing to do. Travelling does not always involve faraway destinations, sometimes we find little gems at our doorstep and I am here to share with you why this place is so magical.
La pointe d’Agon - Golden hour -
Taking pictures as always been a part of my life, through my mum, my talented friends and lover I get the inspiration to get going. My one and only goal is to share my adventures and make memories, as time passes by it is easy to forget the key moments in our lives and having photographs to look at always made me smile.
Capturing moments is the essence of photography as well as conveying emotions, hopefully through these pictures you will understand why Normandy as a special place in my heart.
After few days of enjoying the last rays of winter sun we decided to stop by one of the Unesco’s world heritage site: The Mont Saint Michel and its bay. This is a must do when visiting Normandy and I could not recommend this place enough. We went on a monday morning and the place usually crowded was surprisingly quiet. The site is accessible by car, however after reaching the parking lot you will need to either get a shuttle or walk to the monument (30 minutes walk one way) which is actually quite nice.
The Mont Saint Michel is a unique and stunning place that will leave you in awe, the abbey located at the very top of the isle was built between the 11th and the 16th century, it is accessible by foot after a steep climb, the views from the top are breathtaking. Its exclusive location between Brittany and Normandy tides makes it one of France’s most famous Landmarks. The strategic position as well as the strong tides left the Mont unconquered back in history, there is a 15 meters difference when the tide goes up or down (every 15 days) which made the site impossible to access to attackers.
When you reach the entrance, let yourself wander around the unconventional but utterly charming lanes, charismatic souvenirs shops and tempting restaurants. The fortified medieval village stands out because of its location, the 360 view over the bay is glorious, how come such a little piece of land in the middle of the sea can hold so much history?
Perfect ending
With love,
A
